Here's how:
VPN services hide your identity from sellers, ensuring you get the best rates. Start by clearing your cache and testing websites at different times. Once you discover the best pricing windows, create an account on the site during that time to lock in those lower prices.
Before you click "accept all," remember that some travel sites raise prices based on your ZIP code, browsing history, and other cookie-captured info.
Surfshark's VPN helps you dodge these tactics by masking your IP address, blocking cookies, and securing your personal data. Plus, with unlimited device connections, your whole family is protected.

OPEN AI
🍓 OpenAI’s Project “Strawberry “ is finally here
OpenAI has unveiled its latest model, o1, formerly codenamed “Strawberry,” with two versions: o1-preview and o1-mini, featuring enhanced reasoning and problem-solving skills.
What makes o1 special?
Unlike earlier models, o1 “thinks before it answers,” providing a detailed chain of thought before answering. This allows it to refine its thinking process, try different strategies, and recognize mistakes, leading to more accurate responses.
In tests, this approach has allowed the model to perform at a level close to that of PhD students in areas like physics, chemistry, and biology.
What does o1 do better than GPT?
The o1-preview model excels in coding, mathematics, and safety compliance, surpassing GPT-4o in challenging tasks with better content moderation and fewer hallucinations. For instance, o1-preview solved 83% of the International Mathematics Olympiad qualifying exam problems, compared to GPT-4o’s 13%.
What about o1-mini?
While primarily optimized for coding and STEM tasks, o1-mini still performs decent in math and programming and costs 80% less than o1-preview.
Who can access the new o1 models?
Both models are currently available to all the ChatGPT Plus and Team users, with initial usage limits in place.
VIDEO AI
📽️ Runway's new video-to-video tool
Runway recently launched its Gen-3 Alpha Video-to-Video feature, which allows users to dramatically alter existing videos using text prompts or preset styles.
How does it work?
Simply upload a video and input a prompt or select a preset style. The tool then alters the video scene while keeping the main subjects and actions intact.
What can you do with it?
With this new feature, users can easily change video styles, tweak the weather or lighting, add or remove objects, and more. It’s perfect for quick effects and scene adjustments.
What is the clip limit?
It can generate video clips up to 10 seconds long.
Where to access it?
It is available on the web for all paid Runway plans.
MICROSOFT AI
✨ Microsoft Copilot's next wave is here
Microsoft unveiled Copilot AI agents and a handful of new AI features as part of Copilot Wave 2, which launched for businesses on Monday.
What's the update?
Microsoft is adding a new document type called Copilot Pages, which is integrated into its BizChat app and enables workers to collaborate using AI tools.
They also introduced Copilot agents which are like AI virtual assistants that can carry out specific tasks with little human intervention.
What are additional features?
Copilot in Excel: Provides support for formulas, data visualization, conditional formatting, and more.
Copilot in Excel with Python: Allows to leverage Python in Excel to conduct advanced analysis, such as forecasting and risk analysis, without entering any code.
Narrative Builder in PowerPoint: This feature builds the first draft of your presentation in minutes. Just type in a topic, and the Builder will produce an outline.
Copilot in Teams: Summarizes contents based on the actual meeting as well as conversations in the chat.
You can discover more features from here.
SELF-DRIVING CAR
🚗 Waymo’s Self-driving cars beat humans in safety
Waymo has recently released data showing that its fully self-driving cars have fewer accidents than cars driven by humans.
What does the data suggest?
Waymo estimates that for every 22 million miles driven by a human, there are 31 serious crashes requiring airbags. In contrast, Waymo's self-driving cars have just five serious crashes over the same distance—84% fewer than human drivers.
The rate of injury accidents with Waymo’s autonomous vehicles is 73% lower than with human drivers, with only 20 injury accidents occurring over 22 million miles.
In addition, the rate of police-reported accidents was 48% lower than with human drivers.
This is a great piece, and will surprise no one who has ridden in a Waymo — they aren't just very safe, they also feel very safe.
