Let’s dive into the Valley of AI…

DIIO

Courtesy: diio

diio is AI that understands what business conversations are trying to achieve — and helps teams act on them.

It analyzes meetings, calls, WhatsApp, and other customer interactions to identify what matters: customer needs, objections, commitments, risks, buying signals, and next steps.

Instead of simply recording or summarizing conversations, diio understands their context and objective. It evaluates what happened against your team’s playbooks, identifies whether the conversation is moving in the right direction, and helps decide what should happen next.

Across thousands of interactions, diio turns unstructured conversation data into actionable intelligence teams can actually use.

Built for the complexity of real-world business conversations, diio is helping companies turn AI from a passive observer into an active part of how revenue teams understand customers, make decisions, and move opportunities forward.

THROUGH THE VALLEY

One of ChatGPT’s inventors thinks AI talks too much - former OpenAI researcher Diogo Almeida, who helped build ChatGPT and invent RLHF, has launched Jev. It’s an AI model built for software rather than humans, so instead of writing text it spits out decisions + probabilities.

Turns out removing language makes things pretty cheap. Jev costs just over $0.04 per million input tokens, compared to $10 for GPT-6 Astra and Claude Fable 5.1, while outputs are apparently so cheap they’re just making them free. They also claim responses take 70-500ms instead of seconds/minutes for traditional LLMs.

TypeSafe calls Jev a first-of-its-kind “System One” model, focused more on intuition than reasoning. You give it some context and define the possible outputs in advance, then Jev picks an answer + tells you how confident it is. It can also answer a bunch of questions in parallel, without one answer affecting the others.

Here are some things built using Jev:

It’s not replacing ChatGPT. Jev doesn’t write emails, code or explanations. The bet is that a lot of software doesn’t need an AI to talk to it anyway. It just needs something cheap and fast that can classify, route, score or decide what happens next.
