What’s going on?

Samsung's new Fold 6 phone has a cool feature called “sketch to image” that uses generative AI to turn rough sketches into pictures.

At first, it seemed like just another AI gimmick, but it’s impressively realistic, even turning basic doodles into photorealistic elements in photos.

For example, a poorly drawn ship ended up looking like a massive pirate vessel convincingly anchored in Elliott Bay.

Why it matters?

Sure, you’ve been able to add things like this in Photoshop for ages. But putting this capability in the very same device you use to take the picture and distribute it is another thing.

Microsoft just rolled out its AI-powered Designer worldwide, bringing next-level image generation, editing, and design capabilities to your mobile and Windows devices.

Canva, is that you?

• It's a Canva-like app that uses AI to generate images and designs from text prompts. You can create stickers, greeting cards, invitations, collages, and more.

• Designer is available in over 80 languages across the web, Android, iOS, and Windows platforms.
