🤝 Sam Altman joins Microsoft

Ready, Set, Go: Today’s news should be about a 3-minute read.
UPDATE
Sam Altman, who was surprisingly fired as CEO last Friday, is now in talks about possibly returning, but he's got reservations and wants changes at the top.
One guy on X wrote:
“Sam Altman returning to OpenAI after a day is like Steve Jobs returning to Apple after 12 years, but for the TikTok generation“
The board initially seemed open to resigning to make way for Altman's return, but they didn't stick to their deadline, creating a lot of tension and uncertainty among the staff.
Just when it looked like Altman might come back, the plan fell through, and now Emmett Shear, previously with Twitch, has stepped in as the new CEO.
This shake-up has really rocked OpenAI. Greg Brockman, the president, resigned right after Altman was let go, and there's talk about them starting a new company together.
Btw, I guess a movie would be a banger.
UPDATE
According to Forbes, Here’s who made the decision for Altman to be fired and for Brockman to be removed from its board of directors.
Board Directors:
Adam D’Angelo (CEO of Quora)
Helen Toner
Tasha McCauley
Ilya Sutskever (Cofounder of OpenAI)

UPDATE
Boom! Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, together with colleagues, will be joining Microsoft to lead a new advanced AI research team, CEO Satya Nadella has informed.
Microsoft, which owns almost half of OpenAI, did fight to reinstate Altman but could not sway the board. The company’s shares fell on November 17 after Altman had been fired.
