🌐 OpenAI is building its own X-like social network: OpenAI is reportedly developing a social media platform reminiscent of Elon Musk’s X, currently in early testing. The prototype integrates ChatGPT’s image generation with a live social feed, though it’s unclear if it’ll be standalone or part of ChatGPT. If successful, it could rival X and Meta while providing OpenAI with real-time data to refine its AI models.
🎥 Kling 2.0 launches with next-level AI video & image generation: China’s Kuaishou has unveiled Kling 2.0, featuring a cutting-edge "Master" video model and an upgraded Kolors 2.0 image engine. Senior VP Gai Kun claims it’s the "most powerful video-generation model available." The update delivers cinematic-quality AI videos with smoother motion, while Kolors 2.0 offers 60+ styles for hyper-realistic or stylized visuals, pushing creative boundaries further.
🧠 Claude gets research mode and Google Workspace integration: Anthropic’s Claude now includes a Research tool that autonomously conducts multi-step searches, delivering well-cited answers to complex queries. Additionally, it integrates with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Docs, allowing seamless access to account data without manual uploads. These beta features are available for Max, Team, and Enterprise users, boosting productivity and research efficiency.
🤖 AI passes the Turing test (finally?): A new study reveals GPT-4.5, when given humanlike prompts, fooled judges 73% of the time, outperforming real humans. Meta’s LLaMA 3.1 followed closely, while older models like GPT-4o were easily detected. Over 250 participants tried identifying AI in 5-minute chats, but traditional strategies failed. The findings highlight how convincingly modern AI can mimic human conversation in short bursts.
🎬️ NVIDIA & Stanford’s “Test-Time Training” for longer AI videos: Researchers from NVIDIA and Stanford introduced TTT layers, a breakthrough enabling longer, more coherent AI-generated videos (up to a minute). The method outperforms rivals in human evaluations, producing smoother, story-driven clips—think AI-made Tom and Jerry with fewer glitches. Built on diffusion Transformers, it opens doors for complex, high-quality video generation at scale.
PEAK OF THE DAY
👨💻 OpenAI debuts GPT-4.1 Model Series
OpenAI just released GPT-4.1, a new API-only model family that beats GPT-4o in nearly every category, especially in coding, long-context reasoning, and instruction following.
They are available in 3 different tiers:
GPT-4.1: Best for heavy-duty tasks like large codebases or legal work.
GPT 4.1 Mini: Offers a balance between performance and cost, suitable for interactive tools.
GPT 4.1 Nano: OpenAI's fastest and cheapest model yet, optimized for lightweight tasks like autocomplete and classification.
What's new?
Massive context window: All models handle up to 1 million tokens (around 750,000 words). In one demo, it scanned a 700K-token NASA server log from 1995 and flagged a hidden anomaly with a single prompt.
Big coding leap: Scores 54.6% on SWE-bench Verified, a 21.4% jump over GPT-4o and 26.6% over GPT 4.5. It writes cleaner, bug-free code, handles frontend tasks better, and uses tools more reliably. Way more usable in real-world builds.
Smarter at following instructions: Handles multi-step prompts more reliably, with a 38.3% score on MultiChallenge, beating GPT-4o by 10.5%. Great for workflows that need structured, logical answers.
Where to access it?
It is available now via OpenAI API and Microsoft Azure's OpenAI Service. No ChatGPT version yet, it's dev-focused.
What happens to GPT-4.5?
It will be retired by July 14. GPT-4.1 will replace it since it offers similar or even better results at lower cost and latency.
What's next?
Fine-tuning is coming soon. Developers will be able to train 4.1 and Mini on their own data to match tone, domain language, and task structure.
Why does it matter?
Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini were gaining ground with better reasoning and longer memory. GPT-4.1 is OpenAI's counterattack. It's cheaper, smarter, and finally optimized for real developer use.

Interesting from OpenAI's new prompting guide
1. Repeat your instructions at both the top and bottom of your long context
2. If you don't want to do that then put your instructions at the top— Greg Kamradt (@GregKamradt)
