Today at MIT, there was Sam Altman and Lex Fridman round 2 whereby Sam confirmed that there is no GPT-5 in the works and responds to the letter calling for a six-month halt in AI. See full video below.
2/ Elon Musk buys 10,000 GPUs
After asking a worldwide stop to ChatGPT development, Musk has purchased a thousand GPUs for his own AI project
To compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT, Elon Musk launched a major AI project within Twitter, buying 10,000 Nvidia GPUs and recruiting DeepMind talent for a large language model (LLM).
The exact purpose of the generative AI remains unclear, but potential applications include enhancing search functionality and generating targeted advertising content.
2/ Amazon launched their OpenAI’s rival, Bedrock
Amazon announced a new API for their AWS platform called Bedrock, their answer to Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and various GPT models.
It allows developers to use and customize AI tools for text or image generation specifically targeted at businesses and developers.
Through Bedrock, developers also get access to a wide range of powerful AI models from leading AI startups and Amazon itself via an API. This makes it easier for them to quickly find, customize, and integrate models into applications based on their specific needs.
