CLAUDE 3.7
Anthropic released Claude 3.7 Sonnet and Claude Code
Anthropic has launched Claude 3.7 Sonnet, a hybrid reasoning model capable of both fast responses and step-by-step detailed reasoning, designed for complex problem-solving.
Here's what you need to know:
A unique feature of Claude 3.7 Sonnet is its ability to engage in “extended thinking.” Like OpenAI’s o3-mini and DeepSeek’s R1, Claude 3.7 Sonnet can “reason” through challenging problems by applying more computing and taking more time.
Claude 3.7 Sonnet is state-of-the-art for coding, achieving industry-leading 70.3% accuracy on SWE-bench Verified, outperforming OpenAI’s o1 and DeepSeek R1 at around 49%.
It can build fully functional web apps and dashboards from scratch, offering better design and fewer errors than other AI models (this model is the best one for building websites and apps.)
It used Pokémon for benchmarking this AI model.
Alongside the model, Anthropic introduced Claude Code, an agent-based coding tool as a limited research preview. It search and edit code, run tests, push changes to GitHub, and use command-line tools for automated programming assistance.
Claude 3.7 Sonnet is now available on all Claude plans including Free, Pro, Team, and Enterprise as well as the Anthropic API, Amazon Bedrock, and Google Cloud’s Vertex AI.
Why do I care?
Claude 3.7 Sonnet is the first hybrid reasoning model available, giving Anthropic a strong competitive edge over OpenAI, which is still developing a similar architecture for GPT-5. This launch aligns with Anthropic’s ambitious growth trajectory, aiming to scale revenue from $3.7 billion in 2025 to $34.5 billion by 2027.
TOGETHER WITH NEW SAPIENCE
The Last Step In AI Is Here
Introducing New Sapience: the driving force behind the future of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and the brainchild of Bryant Cruse, a former NASA space systems engineer.
Their game-changing Synthetic Intelligence (SI) isn’t just another AI model - it thinks, learns, and reasons like humans. Unlike traditional AI, SI doesn’t just process data; it understands concepts, builds on knowledge, and adapts in real time.
From healthcare to finance to education, SI is revolutionizing industries. It enhances diagnoses, optimizes predictive analytics, and personalizes learning. Plus, it’s designed with ethics at its core making it transparent, fair, and accountable.
Say goodbye to inefficient, resource-heavy AI. New Sapience is leading the charge toward true AGI that promotes real-world growth, human progress, and smarter decision-making.
SIDE UPDATES
Perplexity has teased Comet, an upcoming AI-powered web browser with agentic capabilities, meaning it can perform tasks on its own. While details on its release date and design remain under wraps, the company has opened a sign-up list for early access. This move positions Perplexity to compete with established browsers like Google Chrome and emerging AI-powered alternatives such as The Browser Company's Dia.
Apple has unveiled a massive $500 billion investment plan in the U.S. over the next four years, marking its largest commitment to domestic operations. A key focus of this initiative is building AI servers in Houston, alongside creating 20,000 new jobs. CEO Tim Cook emphasized that the investment will fuel advancements in AI, R&D, silicon engineering, software development, and workforce training, strengthening Apple's presence in U.S. technology leadership.
A Johns Hopkins study reveals that AI is improving not just in answering questions but also in knowing when not to respond. Researchers found that extending processing time helps models improve accuracy and self-awareness. Tests on DeepSeek R1-32B and s1-32B showed that longer computation times led to better decision-making, proving that silence can sometimes be the smartest move.
Amazon is set to unveil its next-generation Alexa, powered by generative AI, at a major press event this Wednesday in New York City. Hosted by Panos Panay, Amazon’s new devices and services chief, the event is expected to introduce an upgraded Echo speaker and possibly even smart glasses. This article breaks down the latest rumors, offering a clear picture of what to anticipate (and what not to) when Amazon takes the stage at 10 AM.
A group of 1,000 musicians, including Kate Bush, Imogen Heap, and Hans Zimmer, have released a silent album titled Is This What We Want? to protest the UK government’s proposed copyright changes. The law would allow AI developers to train models on artists’ work without permission unless they opt out. The album, made up of ambient noise, spells out a message through its track titles: “The British government must not legalize music theft to benefit AI companies.”

5/ Easily the best model for creative writing as well.
Claude Sonnet 3.7 is out. It's amazing for programming!
For me, until just now, Sonnet 3.5 was still best model for real-world programming. I switched to 3.7 in Cursor, and it feels like a big improvement.
The competition is heating up 🤯 What an exciting time to be alive!
