WISPR FLOW
Realistic-sounding AI voices don’t automatically drive customer engagement. As more enterprises adopt voice AI, leaders are asking a more important question: where do high-performing AI voices actually come from?
Join Amplified 2026, Voices’ virtual webinar on January 28 at 1 PM ET to hear why voice AI leaders prioritize working with top voice talent to get the most authentic performances for their AI.
Amplified shares a first look at findings from Voices’ annual State of Voice report, based on a survey of 700 consumers and voice AI business leaders on the trends defining voice AI in 2026.

THROUGH THE VALLEY
Moonshot has officially launched Kimi K2.5, a powerful new open-source model built for advanced coding, vision, and complex agent tasks. Trained on a massive dataset of 15 trillion tokens, K2.5 not only clones a website, but also all the visual interactions and UX designs. It even features a "swarm system," allowing multiple AI sub-agents to collaborate on large projects (like generating reports, slides, and spreadsheets) in a single workflow. Backed by a recent $500 million funding round that values the company at $4.3 billion, Moonshot is heating up the global AI race. The model is available now on Kimi.com.
Why it matters: It proves that open-source models (free/cheap to run) have reached parity with expensive models like GPT-5. The "swarm" feature is essentially built-in automation that allows the AI to handle 1,500 tasks at once, significantly cutting down the manual work required for complex projects.
In a provocative new essay titled The Adolescence of Technology, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei warns that unchecked superintelligence could pose existential threats. Describing advanced AI as a "country of geniuses in a data center," Amodei highlights risks ranging from bioterrorism to mass job displacement, predicting that half of all entry-level office roles could vanish within five years. He calls for stricter chip export controls and greater transparency, cautioning that the next few years will be critical in determining whether AI leads to global prosperity or catastrophe.
Why it matters: With data showing entry-level job postings already down 35%, the shift toward 50% automation in office roles over the next five years is a primary economic risk for the current workforce.
Microsoft has unveiled the Maia 200, its second-generation custom AI chip, claiming it delivers 30% better performance per dollar than rivals like Amazon and Google. Already powering workloads for Copilot, the chip is designed to lower costs and boost speed as AI demand surges. With deployment underway in data centers across Iowa and Arizona, Microsoft also confirmed development of the next-generation Maia 300, signaling a major strategic push to own and control more of its proprietary AI infrastructure.
Why it matters: Microsoft is building its own hardware to stop paying "the NVIDIA tax." By owning the chips, Microsoft can lower the price of its AI tools (like Copilot) to undercut competitors, marking a shift where the biggest AI advantage is now custom silicon rather than just software.
Anthropic is taking Claude beyond simple chat by integrating interactive apps for tools like Slack, Figma, Canva, and Asana. Instead of constantly switching tabs, paid users can now manage projects, edit designs, and draft messages directly within the Claude interface. This feature utilizes Anthropic’s open Model Context Protocol (the same standard adopted by OpenAI) and aims to streamline workflow by keeping tasks, data, and collaboration in one place. With Salesforce integration coming next, Anthropic is positioning Claude as a unified operating system for work.
Why it matters: Instead of being a website you visit to ask questions, Claude is becoming a central hub where you actually do the work (Slack, Figma, Asana). By using an open protocol (MCP), it avoids "vendor lock-in," making it easier for businesses to switch between different AI providers.
