The king is dead

Together with

Howdy, happy thursday, AI family!

🧵 Here’s what I got today:

  • 👑 The king is dead

  • 💼 OpenAI pitches Sora to Hollywood studios

  • 👀 What is real anymore?

  • 🥹 This might be the Next Big Thing in AI

  • 🔍️ + new AI Tools, Resources, and other news

Ready, Set, Go: Today’s read should be about a 3.5-minute read.

GPT-4’s long reign has come to an end.

Anthropic's Claude 3 Opus surpassed OpenAI's GPT-4 for the first time on Chatbot Arena, a popular crowdsourced leaderboard used by AI researchers to gauge the relative capabilities of AI language models.

More than 70,000 new votes made up the latest update that saw Claude 3 Claude-3 Opus take the leaderboard's top spot, but even the smallest of the Claude 3 models performed well.

Until recently, the average person would never dream of investing in this market. But a Harvard data scientist and his team cracked the code.

The best part? Everyday people are already benefiting.

All thanks to Masterworks. The platform for investing in shares of blue-chip art. Investors have realized net returns of 13.9%, 14.6%, and 17.8% and more.

Some of the most important meetings in Hollywood history will take place in the coming week, as OpenAI hits Hollywood to show the potential of its “Sora” software to studios, talent agencies, and media executives.

Notably, some leading filmmakers have been given early access to exploring Sora's ability to inspire new, unimaginable ideas, pushing beyond traditional artistic limits.

Director Paul Trillo acknowledges its early promise, particularly in producing surreal and innovative visuals.

Deep fakes are becoming more and more realistic; we are entering a world indistinguishable from reality.

X is buzzing about Argil's new AI tool that makes very lifelike deepfakes, blending real and fake so well it's hard to tell apart.

This tool can mimic someone's looks, expressions, and even voice from just a short video clip, creating convincing fake videos.

Everyone should tell their family that a video can no longer be trusted.

Here’s how it looks:

Hume AI has introduced a conversational AI named Empathic Voice Interface (EVI), with emotional intelligence.

EVI understands the user’s tone of voice, which adds meaning to every word, and uses it to guide its language and speech.

Interestingly, it almost feels like you are talking to a human (trust me).

The future of AI interfaces will be voice-based because voice is four times faster than typing and carries twice as much information.

One is a real photo, and one is AI-generated.

Can you tell which is which?
