🤖 MAIN UPDATES
What’s going on?
Meta Platforms is set to unveil its biggest open-source language model, Llama 3, on July 23, according to insiders.
Can Llama 3 outshine GPT-4?
That's the burning question. This beast boasts a whopping 405 billion parameters and is multimodal, handling images and text, achieving near-parity with OpenAI's GPT-4 on the MMLU benchmark despite using less than half the parameters.
Will Meta Share the Wealth (of Weights)?
Initially, there were rumors that the model's weights might not be shared. However, reports now indicate that Meta plans to release the model along with its weights (those bits of knowledge it gained during training) as open source.
What’s going on?
YouTube Music is introducing two new features to help users discover new music.
An AI-generated "conversational radio" feature that allows users to create a custom radio station by describing the type of music they want to hear. This feature is being rolled out to some premium users in the US.
A new song recognition feature lets users search the app's catalog by singing, humming, or playing parts of a song. It is similar to Shazam but allows users to find songs by singing or humming, not just playing the song.
This feature is rolling out to all YouTube Music users on iOS and Android.
Why does it matter?
These features show YouTube Music's commitment to using AI and audio recognition technologies to enhance your music discovery experience, making it more personalized and engaging. It's like having a musical genie in your pocket.
