META
🔍🤫 Meta is secretly creating an AI search engine
On Monday, The Information reported that Meta is developing its own AI-based web search engine to reduce dependence on Google and Microsoft’s Bing.
Here's what you need to know:
Meta’s new search engine crawls the web to provide its AI chatbot with up-to-date information, enabling it to answer questions on current events directly within Meta’s platforms.
Known as the Meta External Agent, this web crawler was first spotted in July by Dark Visitors, a firm that tracks web scraping and bot activity.
Meta also recently partnered with Reuters to enhance its AI chatbot’s ability to answer user questions with up-to-date news and event coverage.
Recently, OpenAI also launched SearchGPT and announced that it will integrate the search engine into the chatbot by the end of the year.
Why it matters:
By launching its own search engine, Meta can independently source data, enhancing the reliability of its AI models and allowing it to explore new opportunities without depending on competitors.

APPLE AI
🍏🧠 Apple officially releases ‘Apple Intelligence’
Apple has officially unveiled 'Apple Intelligence,' packed with advanced new features like writing tools, notification summaries, smarter photo capabilities, and a more conversational Siri.
These features are available across various devices but need specific software versions: iOS 18.1 for iPhones, iPadOS 18.1 for iPads, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 for Macs.
Here are the 4 key features:
Writing Tools: New tools enable users to rewrite, proofread, and summarize text across Apple and third-party apps by selecting text to open a refinement panel.
Notification Summaries: Apple Intelligence condenses notification stacks into single summaries, making it easier to catch up at a glance.
Intelligence in Photos: The Photos app adds a Clean Up tool to remove objects or people with a swipe, smarter search, and automatic short movie creation from photos.
Siri Enhancements: Siri can now answer Apple product questions, handle more natural conversations, and include a text interface for silent queries.
What's next:
Apple plans to release iOS 18.2 in December, adding more Apple Intelligence features like in-app Siri actions, ChatGPT integration, Visual Intelligence, Genmoji, and Image Playground for custom emojis and images.
