UPDATE
PimEyes, a facial recognition tool developed in Poland, allows users to identify people from photos by scanning the internet. While popular on TikTok, it's controversial due to its potential misuse as a surveillance tool and its collection of images without permission.
Big Tech companies like Google have developed similar tools but hesitate to release them due to misuse concerns. In the U.S., there's a lack of federal regulation on facial recognition, while the EU debates a potential ban.
Activists warn against treating individuals as "walking barcodes" without their consent.
UPDATE
ElevenLabs has launched AI Dubbing, which translates speech into over 20 languages. This tool aims to revolutionize the traditionally manual dubbing process, making it easier for smaller content creators to reach global audiences.
Users simply upload their content, and the tool handles the translation, retaining the original voice's emotions. No more tedious manual dubbing!
