UPDATE

Tom Hanks and YouTube celebrity MrBeast have recently warned the public about unauthorized AI-generated deepfakes of themselves being used in scams.

These incidents have heightened concerns about the use of AI in digital media. The deepfakes appear to be created by altering existing videos of celebrities to match AI-generated voice clones.

In the ad, the massively influential creator appeared to be offering 10,000 viewers an iPhone 15 Pro for just $2. In most cases, this would be a clear indication of a scam, but coming from MrBeast, it could actually be believable.

UPDATE

Researchers from The University of Texas at Austin have developed an AI algorithm capable of predicting earthquakes with a 70% accuracy up to a week before their occurrence, as demonstrated during a seven-month trial.

The AI was trained using previous earthquake occurrences, enabling it to forecast 14 earthquakes within approximately 200 miles of their eventual locations and with near-accurate strength estimations.
