🤖 MAIN SCOOP

What’s going on?

OpenAI has announced the launch of SearchGPT, an AI-powered search engine designed to deliver real-time information from the web.

Are there similar tools already?

Yep. Google’s AI Overviews give you article summaries, right at the top of news results. But, SearchGPT is more like Perplexity, providing you with relevant links and letting you ask follow-up questions.

So, why should you care?

SearchGPT might soon become a part of ChatGPT, making your search experience more interactive. Plus, it taps into data from third-party publishers and creators who’ve partnered with OpenAI, so you’ll get to dive straight into their content with just a click.

The best part? You can use any downlodaded track forever.

Google introduced its new math-solving geniuses: AlphaProof, for formal math reasoning, and AlphaGeometry 2, an upgraded version of its previous model for solving geometry problems.

How good are both?

In a recent IMO competition, they nabbed 28 out of 42 points, missing the gold by just one point. This is the first time an AI has reached such a level in this prestigious math competition.

But, here's the catch

They flunked two out of six problems and needed three days for one, while humans only got four-and-a-half hours to tackle three questions, averaging 90 minutes each.

What’s next?

Google hints at integrating the brainpower of these systems into future versions of its Gemini AI models.

Why it matters?

AI’s been ace at generating text but still struggles with math’s logic-heavy challenges. With these new advancements, that might be about to change.
