OpenAI said to fight Google with ChatGPT-based web browser
OpenAI is reportedly developing an in-house ChatGPT-powered web browser to directly challenge Google in the search market.
Here's what you need to know:
OpenAI has been in talks with companies like Condé Nast, Redfin, and Eventbrite to integrate AI-driven search solutions across travel, real estate, and retail.
Sources revealed that OpenAI's new product, NLWeb (Natural Language Web), is in the early stages, with prototypes shown but not yet ready for launch.
OpenAI's potential browser could also involve partnerships with companies like Samsung and Apple.

SIDE UPDATES
Apple is building a smarter Siri, dubbed "LLM Siri," designed to hold ongoing conversations like ChatGPT. Powered by large language models, it will handle more complex tasks than ever before. Apple plans to unveil the new Siri at the June 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference, with a spring 2026 release date in sight.
Salesforce has launched the Agentforce Testing Center in a limited pilot, with full availability expected in December 2024. The platform uses AI-generated tests and sandbox environments to evaluate agent performance, simulating real-world conditions. It allows enterprises to observe and prototype AI agents before deploying them in production.
Anthropic's Claude now works with Google Drive, letting users streamline content management and boost automation when paired with tools like Make.com. While this upgrade enhances workflow, the limited context window remains a frustrating bottleneck.
U.S. regulators are calling for Google to sell its Chrome browser and curb Android’s favoritism toward Google Search, accusing the company of abusing its search monopoly for over a decade. If approved, the breakup could reshape Google’s $300 billion empire, but legal appeals and political changes could delay or soften the impact.
Japan’s Obayashi Corporation aims to build a $100-billion space elevator by 2050, using electromagnetic climbers to cut space transport costs to $57 per pound—far cheaper than rockets like SpaceX’s Falcon 9. While construction won’t start by 2025 as initially planned, the company is advancing research and design. If realized, the elevator could revolutionize space travel with safer, fuel-free, zero-emission transport.

Black Forest Labs launches FLUX.1 Tools
Black Forest Labs released FLUX.1 Tools, a suite designed to enhance control and modification of real and AI-generated images using its FLUX.1 base model.
Here's what you need to know:
FLUX.1 Fill enables seamless inpainting and outpainting, allowing users to edit or extend real and AI-generated images naturally, surpassing models like Ideogram 2.0.
FLUX.1 Depth uses depth maps to modify images while preserving the original structure, outperforming MidJourney ReTexture.
FLUX.1 Canny applies edge detection for detailed image transformations, combining input outlines and text prompts for precision.
FLUX.1 Redux allows to recreate and remix input images based on both the image and a prompt.
Each of these tools is offered in two versions: FLUX.1 [dev] for open access and FLUX.1 [pro] via BFL's API for enterprise-level needs.
Why it matters:
FLUX.1 Tools provide creators with more control and precision in editing and remixing images, making them valuable for businesses and developers seeking to enhance their creative workflows.
