NVIDIA Unveils Its Most Affordable Generative AI Supercomputer

NVIDIA just dropped something game-changing: the Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit, a mini AI powerhouse delivering a mind-blowing 67 TOPS (trillion operations per second) for just $249. Perfect for developers, hobbyists, and students, it’s built to handle cutting-edge AI projects like robotics, computer vision, and generative AI.

Here's what you need to know:

  • 1.7x faster than the last-gen, with a 50% memory bandwidth boost (up to 102GB/s).

  • Runs efficiently at just 25W.

  • Packs a 6-core processor and 1024 CUDA cores, so it can juggle multiple heavy-duty AI tasks at once.

  • Hooks into NVIDIA’s AI tools like Isaac (robotics) and Metropolis (vision AI) to make building and deploying AI apps a breeze.

Why it matters:

As AI keeps leaning on beastly generative models, having an affordable, supercharged device like the Jetson Orin Nano Super makes AI development more accessible than ever. Whether you're building a smart bot or playing with computer vision, this kit gets you pro-level performance without breaking the bank.

SIDE UPDATES

Salesforce introduced Agentforce 2.0, an AI tool designed to simplify work by using "digital labor." It’s powered by the Atlas Reasoning Engine, which helps AI handle tough tasks and make decisions. Within Salesforce, it has automated 83% of customer support queries, cutting human involvement by 50%. CEO Marc Benioff says it can help with global labor shortages.

You can now call ChatGPT at 1-800-CHATGPT (U.S. only) for free, up to 15 minutes per month. This feature is powered by OpenAI's Realtime API and is aimed at making AI more accessible. Globally, users can send messages via WhatsApp to the same number, supported by a simpler version of GPT-4. OpenAI ensures these calls won’t be used to train AI models.

Genesis is an open-source physics engine built by over 20 labs. It can simulate real-world scenarios incredibly fast 430,000 times faster than real-time. Developers can use it to create realistic videos, 3D scenes, and train robotic systems. With its easy-to-use design and generative features, Genesis makes robotics and AI development more accessible. The source code is available on GitHub.

GitHub's Copilot AI is now free for casual developers, offering 2,000 code completions and 50 chat messages per month. Powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4o, this free tier aims to lower the barrier to entry for coding and support GitHub's vision of empowering a billion developers globally.

Google DeepMind has introduced FACTS Grounding, a new benchmark featuring 1,719 curated examples across various domains to evaluate AI models’ ability to provide accurate, document-based answers. The benchmark uses a unique evaluation approach with three leading AI models: Gemini 1.5 Pro, GPT-4o, and Claude 3.5 Sonnet acting as judges. Currently, Google Gemini models hold the top position on the benchmark.

MidJourney added Pinterest-style Moodboards, where users can organize images to inspire AI-generated art. It also supports multiple custom AI models, letting users switch between different profiles for personalized results.

ElevenLabs released Flash v2 and v2.5, which generate lifelike voice dialogue from text in under 75ms. These models are fast, support 32+ languages, and deliver high-quality audio that’s rated better than other low-latency systems.
