PEAK OF THE DAY
ChatGPT Images 2.0 quietly became the top image model
OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Images 2.0, a major upgrade that pushes image generation beyond pretty pictures and into real creative work.
The biggest upgrade is the built-in reasoning and thinking capabilities. Before generating, the model can spend time interpreting prompts, planning outputs, checking details, and even using web context when needed. That allows it to behave more like a creative assistant than a standard image generator.
With reasoning enabled, ChatGPT Images 2.0 can create up to eight image variations from a single prompt while keeping characters, objects, and visual style consistent across every output. OpenAI says this makes longer-form visual storytelling and multi-asset campaigns far easier to produce.
Here are some other upgrades:
Much better text rendering in languages like Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, and Bengali.
More current world knowledge, updated through December 2025.
Stronger style replication, including texture, lighting, composition, and mood.
Especially useful for branding work, making logos, product shots, campaigns, and consistent business visuals easier to create (see examples here).
The release has already pushed ChatGPT Images 2.0 to the #1 spot on Image Arena leaderboards, outperforming rivals like Nano Banana 2.

The model is available to ChatGPT and Codex users, while advanced reasoning-based outputs are limited to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans.
THROUGH THE VALLEY
1/ SpaceX strikes Cursor deal with $60B buy option

SpaceX has partnered with Cursor in a deal that gives it the option to acquire the AI coding startup later this year for $60 billion, or instead pay $10 billion tied to joint development of advanced coding and knowledge-work AI systems. In return, Cursor could gain access to SpaceX’s Colosus supercomputer and frontier models from xAI, giving it the compute and model access needed to compete more directly with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. For SpaceX, the partnership offers a faster path into coding agents and workplace AI as it reportedly prepares for an IPO, suggesting AI may become a major part of its next chapter beyond rockets and satellites.
2/ Meta trains AI agents on employee behavior

Meta has launched an internal Model Capability Initiative that records screenshots, keystrokes, and mouse activity on U.S. employee work laptops to collect real-world data for AI training. The tracking reportedly focuses heavily on developers, capturing workflows inside tools like VSCode, MetaMate, Google Chat, and Gmail, with employees told there is no option to opt out. Internal backlash grew after reports that around 8,000 staff are set to leave on May 20, with monitoring beginning roughly a month before their exit dates.
PRESENTED BY ADOBE
Adobe just turned Firefly into a true all-in-one creative AI studio with its new Firefly AI Assistant. It works like an agent. You describe the outcome, and it plans and executes multi-step workflows across apps like Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, and more, while you stay in control of the creative direction.
Beyond that, Adobe upgraded Firefly’s editing stack. Video gets studio-quality sound, advanced color controls, and Adobe Stock integration, while images get more precise tools like Precision Flow and AI Markup.
It also now supports 30+ top AI models, including Kling 3.0 (and Omni), Veo 3.1, Runway Gen-4.5, and ElevenLabs Multilingual v2, giving creators far more flexibility in how they create.
