FACT OF THE DAY
Google uses over 1 billion lines of code to run all of its services, including Search, Gmail, and YouTube. To put that in perspective, that’s hundreds of times more than the code needed for the original Apollo 11 moon landing.

OASIS
🎮 3d games created entirely by AI
Decart AI just launched Oasis, an AI model that generates entire playable video game environments in real-time, along with a Minecraft-style demo to showcase its open-world capabilities.
Here's what you need to know:
Oasis creates game environments in real-time by reacting to player keyboard and mouse inputs, managing everything from physics to graphics and item interactions without needing pre-coded scripts.
The model runs at 20 FPS and performs 100x faster than typical AI video models, though visuals may currently appear hazy, with occasional “memory” lapses in layout.
Along with a playable demo, a 500M parameter model for local testing is available, with future versions expected to support 4K resolution on Etched's upcoming Sohu chip and massive 100B+ parameter models for scaling.
Why does it matter:
Oasis could transform interactive content by letting users create entire virtual worlds with just prompts, reshaping game development and VR experiences.
Related: Ubisoft, with Nvidia and Inworld.ai, has created AI-driven NPCs that can hold emotional conversations with players.
META
🖐️ Meta’s robot that can ‘feel’ touch
Meta has developed three sets of tools to give the machines the ability to detect, understand, and make sense of the objects they are in contact with.
Here's what you need to know:
The key development, Meta Digit 360, is an advanced artificial fingertip with over 18 sensing functions that provide human-like touch sensitivity through an on-device AI accelerator.
Another notable development is Sparsh, the first universal encoder for visual-tactile sensors, which enhances AI's ability to recognize textures and movements by using raw data from a training set of 460,000 images.
Finally, Digit Plexus connects multiple touch sensors in robotic hands, giving them a coordinated sense of touch from fingertip to palm for improved handling of fragile or irregular objects.
It is set to be available to researchers in 2025.
Why does it matter:
Better touch perception in robotics could make machines interact more precisely, paving the way for advances in healthcare, manufacturing, etc.
