THROUGH THE VALLEY
Claude Duet is Anthropic's new personal agent, except it's mostly interested in your job. It runs on its own cloud computer, checks your apps every few hours, sends morning briefings and keeps working when you're offline. Opus 5.5 under the hood, 6,000+ integrations (Slack, Shopify, HubSpot, QuickBooks, etc.).
It also inherits your Claude memory, skills and connected apps. I think this is one of the better decisions Anthropic made. An assistant that already knows how you work has a pretty big head start over one that needs a 40-minute onboarding conversation.
Duet can chase unpaid invoices, prepare payroll, draft emails and even buy things through Stripe Link or Shop Pay. But it asks before sending, paying, signing or deleting anything. Stock trading and bank transfers are completely off-limits.
The catch is that it still gets urgency wrong, occasionally misreads conversations and isn't great at personal errands. And all that background work counts against your existing Claude usage limits. Imagine opening Claude Code to get some work done and discovering your assistant spent the morning checking Slack.
My bigger concern with these always-on agents is that they could become another inbox to manage. If I have to approve 30 tiny decisions a day, we've just invented a very expensive middle manager.
