OPEN AI

Former OpenAI board member Helen Toner revealed 2 shocking details about Sam Altman’s firing:

  • Left in the dark: The board was unaware of ChatGPT's launch in 2022 until they saw it on Twitter. She mentioned that the board was not informed about the chatbot's release, which later became a significant success.

  • Trust issues: The board had found it difficult to trust Altman after he failed to disclose that he owned the OpenAI Startup Fund, gave inaccurate information about the company's safety processes, and tried to push Toner off the board after she published a critical research paper.

Due to these issues, Toner and other directors concluded they could no longer trust Altman’s information.

OPEN AI

Big day for ChatGPT free users: OpenAI has announced that all ChatGPT free users can now use browse, vision, data analysis, file uploads, and GPTs. The new capabilities in the free tier are now available through ChatGPT app for Android, iOS and macOS, as well as on ChatGPT web.

This is GREAT: ChatGPT free users are getting pretty much all features as paid users.

That means 2 possible things: OpenAI is aiming for a maximum userbase now, and their next model will have a really substantial enhancement.

Two Prediction:

  • The ChatGPT site is going to face some outages in the next 12 hours.

  • If they don't release "her" mode or GPT-5 soon, a lot of people are going to cancel their paid subscriptions.
